195th Infantry, State Color. The 195th was recruited in Lancaster, Berks, Union, Mifflin, and Cumberland counties in July 1864 for one hundred days' service. The regiment received the state colors on August 26, 1864, and the bearer was Sergeant Thomas E. Allen of Company F. Three companies re-enlisted, and seven new companies were added in February 1865 to re-build the regiment. The reorganized 195th regiment carried the state color. Sergeant Christian Hanlin was the first color-bearer, followed by Sergeant Israel Blair.
